The nurturing of talent is important to the future of our society. 

  • The Foundation awarded scholarships and bursaries to all the universities and tertiary education institutions in Hong Kong, bringing the total number of benefited students to 1,194, and the gross contribution to HK$11.38 million since 1990.
  • In 2009, BOCHK has fully supported The Internship Programme for University Graduates initiated by the Labour Department. Under this programme, a number of university graduates are able to earn valuable working experience in BOCHK as well as the Mainland’s Bank of China. 
  • The Foundation organised the Internship Programme for Financial Professionals in the Mainland of China since 2005, together with the Summer Internship Programme for Tertiary Institution Students launched in 2008, which allowed students from universities and tertiary institutions to have a better understanding of the economic and financial developments in our Motherland and equip themselves for future challenges by undertaking an internship at branches of Bank of China in the Mainland.
  • The Foundation sponsored the Junior Police Call Leadership and Management Training Project organised by the Hong Kong Police with a view to strengthening the leadership skills of our youngsters. This project provided 161 classes for more than 6,400 participants in 2006 and 2007.
  • The Foundation supported the Hong Kong Police to organise the Bank of China (Hong Kong) – Hong Kong Police Youth Road Safety Quiz between December 2006 and March 2007. The online quiz was well-received with nearly 100,000 entries.
  • The Foundation donated HK$800,000 for the establishment of the Hong Kong Society For the Protection of Children BOC Day Nursery, which was officially opened at Olympian City in September 2001.
