This year, BOCHK provides placements to students under the HYAB Scheme on Corporate Summer Internship on the Mainland and Overseas which is driven by the HKSAR Government.

Programme Objectives

The programme provides our young talents a platform and rich opportunities to build essential skills, and enrich their cultural exposure in the Chinese mainland or Southeast Asian region. If you want to expand new horizons and craft your own future path, join us and make every moment worth remembering in this upcoming summer!

In this six-week programme, you will have the chance to develop crucial skillsets, and network with professional mentors in the regions with exceptional financial backgrounds. In addition, you will also be enhancing your independence and adaptability by immersing yourself in a completely new culture.

Successful applicants will be assigned to one of the following segments, where they will be given challenging business-related assignments to develop their abilities.

• Personal Banking
• Corporate Banking
• Financial Markets
• Risk Management & Compliance
• Information Technology

Learning Offering

• To gain insights and knowledge about the vibrant and dynamic financial services industry by working with our experienced bankers. They will provide you with highlights of key banking products and services, as well as control functions.
• To attend seminars, workshops and on-the-job training in order to deepen your understanding of BOCHK, and to echo to your internship in the Chinese mainland or ASEAN countries.
• To receive feedback and advices from our experienced managers from business units and functions.

Eligibility

• Permanent residents of Hong Kong who are students currently enrolled in sub-degree or equivalent, undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in or outside Hong Kong; OR Hong Kong residents who are full-time students currently enrolled in locally accredited sub-degree or equivalent, undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in Hong Kong.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Good academic achievements and proficiency in English and Mandarin.

Remarks: The accommodation, transportation and insurance expenses during the cross-border placement will be borne by BOCHK, and subsidies will be offered to our interns.

The HYAB Scheme on Corporate Summer Internship on the Mainland and Overseas 2026 is a joint initiative between the HKSAR Government, BOCHK and other major companies in Hong Kong. Applicants who are interested in applying for internship placement offered by BOCHK under the Scheme should submit the application through the Government's central online application system (www.ydc.gov.hk/scsi/en) by 23:59 on 9 March 2026 HKT. BOCHK will not accept applications direct at this stage.
