Octopus Automatic Add Value Service
BOC Credit Card customers can now apply for the Octopus Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS) for themselves or their family and friends. Customers can choose to auto-reload their Octopus cards with HK$500 or HK$250 per transaction, and earn Gift Points* with each successful auto-reload. Gift Points can be redeemed for cash rebates, e-vouchers from participating merchants, or miles. Gift Points can also be used to offset future credit card spending. Save time from queuing up to add value
When your Octopus card balance is low, the system will automatically top up a designated amount from your BOC Credit Card. Enjoy seamless payments for everyday expenses such as public transportation, shopping and dining.
The primary cardholder can apply for the AAVS for themselves (up to 3 Octopus cards) and up to 3 AAVS for relatives and friends who aged 12 or above.
Multiple channels to apply for or adjust your "Octopus Automatic Add Value Service"
The primary cardholder can process their applications through any of the following methods:
- BOCHK Internet Banking: Log in and navigate to “Credit Card” > “Value-Added Service(s)” > “Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service", and select the “Apply / Update”.
- BOCHK Mobile Banking: Log in and navigate to "Credit Card" > “Octopus Automatic Add Value Service".
- Phone Application: Call the BOC Credit Card Service Hotline on 2214 3433.
- Form Submission: Download and complete the "Octopus Automatic Add Value Service" application form, then submit it in person at a branch or by mail.
To apply for a family member or friend who aged 12 or above:
- Form Submission: Download the application form, complete Section A (Basic Information) with the primary cardholder’s information and Section B with the family members/friends’ information, then submit it in person at a branch or by mail.
*For each "Automatic reload amount" of HK$500, you can earn 500 gift points / $2 cash rebate (applicable to cardholders who participate in the “Cash Rebate” Plan, but excluding BOC Chill Card ); and for each reload amount of HK$250, you can earn 250 gift points / $1 cash rebate (applicable to cardholders who participate in the “Cash Rebate” Plan, but excluding BOC Chill Card). Each eligible Credit Card's main card account and its additional card account are entitled to an aggregate maximum of 10,000 Gift Points or HK$50 cash rebate per statement cycle for Octopus Automatic Add Value Service transactions and for bill payments under all merchant categories through Online Bill Payment or "JET Payment", person to person (P2P) fund transfer via mobile device/app/electronic platform as well as retail transactions under Supermarket, Convenience Store, Grocery Stores, Miscellaneous Food Stores and Government Department categories. (Remark: Supermarket, Convenience Store and Government Department categories are defined as such by Visa, Mastercard, China UnionPay and BOC Credit Card (International) Ltd at their sole discretion from time to time.)
