Terms & Conditions of the promotion offer: 

1. The promotion period is from 3 July 2018 to 31 December 2018 (both dates inclusive) (“Promotion Period”). 

2. The above offers are only applicable to personal banking customers of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited ("BOCHK") who have taken up Wealth Management or Enrich Banking service (“Selected Customers”). 

3. Selected customers who have satisfied all of the below remittance transactions conditions during the Promotion Period, are eligible to apply the above mentioned promotion: 

a.   Outward Remittance (including Telegraphic Transfer and BOC Remittance Plus:

  •  Must be submitted and completed via Internet Banking of BOCHK, and
  • Can be any of the currencies available for remittance on the Internet Banking, and
  • Beneficiary's name must be same as the ordering customer, and
  • Beneficiary's bank is a branch/affiliate bank of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited or Bank of China Limited (“BOC”) in the mainland or any other country / region (Must identify BOC as the beneficiary's bank by 11 character SWIFT BIC address starting with BKCH or the CNAPS No.)

b.   Inward Remittance:

  •  Remittance Amount is more than HK$500 or equivalent, and
  • Remitter's name must be same as the Customer, and
  • Remitting bank is a branch/affiliate bank of Bank of China (Hong (Kong) Limited or BOC in the mainland or any other country / region. 

4. The preferential charges are applicable to basic handling fee/charge of the above transaction.  Any other incurred fees & charges, such as correspondent bank charges, and fees & charges to be collected from other parties are not part of the offer. 

5. The above mentioned products, services and offers are subject to relevant terms and conditions. For details, please refer to relevant promotional materials or contact the branch staff of BOCHK. 

6. BOCHK reserves the right to amend, suspend or terminate the above products, services and offers, and to amend the relevant terms at any time at its sole discretion without prior notice.

RMB Cross Border Direct Remittance for Mainland Chinese (Promotion period ends at 29th March 2019)

Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (“BOCHK”)’s cross border RMB direct remittance (“RMB Direct Remittance”) makes it easier for mainland Chinese working in Hong Kong to remit their salary back to the mainland.  Eligible customers may visit any of the 55 designated BOCHK branches to conduct RMB direct remittance to accounts with Bank of China (“BOC”) in the mainland. Leveraged on the strong system infrastructure, the service is supported by the entire branch network of BOC in the mainland and the remittance funds can reach the beneficiary branch rapidly.

During the Promotion Period, the handling fees of RMB Direct Remittance of BOCHK are waived! 

Eligible customers

Mainland Chinese working in Hong Kong and holding non-permanent resident HKID Card; have opened their RMB accounts with BOCHK; and have taken up BOCHK payroll service.

Terms of Remittance

Each eligible customer may conduct RMB direct remittance once per month; and

The amount of remittance is up to the amount of salary earned in Hong Kong and received through the BOCHK payroll service less the amounts remitted by RMB direct remittance; and, unless otherwise agreed by BOCHK, the upper limit of each RMB direct remittance is the RMB equivalent of HK$400,000 (subject to BOCHK’s exchange rate).

Beneficiary A/C

Account opened with Bank of China in mainland under same name of remitter.

If it is necessary to conduct remittance to an account with different name, BOCHK may accept the application and it is subject to the decision of Bank of China in the mainland to accept the transaction. In principal, the beneficiary with different name should be a direct relative, such as spouse, children, parents, of the remitter.

Handling Fees

Term and Conditions: 

1. The promotion period of RMB cross border direct remittance service (“RMB Direct Remittance”) is from 17th September 2018 to 29th March 2019, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”). 

2. The RMB Direct Remittance is only applicable to the mainland Chinese working in Hong Kong and holding non-permanent resident HKID Card; have opened their RMB accounts with BOCHK; and have taken up BOCHK payroll service (“Eligible customer”).

3. Eligible customers may apply for RMB direct remittance under below service arrangements and conditions: 

  • Submit completed application forms and documents through a designated branch at BOCHK (Please click here to locate the designated branches);

  • Debit from a RMB account of BOCHK under the sole name of the Eligible customer for conducting the remittance;

  • Beneficiary’s name is the same as that of the remitter. If it is necessary to conduct the remittance to an account with different name, BOCHK may accept the application and it is subject to the decision of Bank of China in the mainland to accept the transaction. In principal, the beneficiary with different name should be a direct relative, such as spouse, children, parents, of the remitter. If Bank of China in the mainland rejected the remittance, the fees and charges for returning the proceeds will be borne by the Eligible customer;

  • Beneficiary's bank is a branch of Bank of China Limited (“BOC”) in the mainland (Must identify BOC as the beneficiary's bank by 11 character SWIFT BIC address starting with BKCH or the CNAPS No.);

  • Each Eligible customer may conduct RMB direct remittance once per month;

  • Remittance funds must be in Renminbi, and;

  • The source of fund of the remittance must be derived from Eligible customer’s earned salary in Hong Kong; other proceeds from other investment income (including but not limit to the proceeds from stocks, funds and real estate) cannot be remitted through this service. The amount of remittance cannot exceed the earned salary in Hong Kong received through BOCHK payroll service less the amounts remitted by RMB direct remittance, and, unless otherwise agreed by BOCHK, the upper limit of each RMB direct remittance is the RMB equivalent of HK$400,000 (subject to BOCHK’s exchange rate) . BOCHK shall request the Eligible customer to declare the source of fund and provide proof.  

4. During the Promotion Period, Eligible customers may enjoy waiver of the handling fee of RMB Direct Remittance.  The waiver is only applicable to the handling fee of outward remittance charged by BOCHK.  Any other incurred fees & charges, such as correspondent bank charges, and third party fees & charges to be collected from the customer are excluded from the waiver. 

5. Eligible customers should clearly indicate to the staff of BOCHK that he/she is applying for this services and promotion when submitting the remittance application form.  Otherwise, the usual handling fees and charges will be applicable to the remittance.
