Local Bank Transfer
- Which kind of local bank transfer services are available on Mobile Banking?
- You can conduct Express Transfer (RTGS/CHATS) and Electronic Transfer for designated third parties via Mobile Banking.
- Which currencies are available for local bank transfer via Mobile Banking?
- HKD, CNY, USD and EUR are available for Express Transfer (RTGS/CHATS), while HKD and CNY are available for Electronic Transfer.
- What are the service hours for local bank transfer via Mobile Banking?
- The service hours for local bank transfer via Mobile Banking are as follows:
- Express Transfer (RTGS/CHATS) in HKD, USD and EUR: 09:00 - 17:45*
- Express Transfer (RTGS/CHATS) in CNY: 09:00 - 21:30*
- Electronic Transfer in HKD and CNY: 09:00 - 20:00*
(*From Mon to Fri. Sat, Sun and public holidays are not included).
- Will funds transferred through local bank transfer via Mobile Banking be completed on the same day?
- For Express Transfer (RTGS/CHATS) conducted before 17:45* (for HKD, USD and EUR) and 21:30* (for CNY), funds will be transferred through the Real Time Gross Settlement System of Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited and the receiving bank will normally receive the funds on the same day. For Electronic Transfer, funds will be deducted from the debit account on the same day and the receiving bank will normally receive the funds on the next working day (excluding Sat).

- Is currency exchange allowed in local bank transfer?
- For Express Transfer (RTGS/CHATS), conversion from/to HKD and other foreign currencies is allowed for funds transfer in currencies. For example, you can withdraw funds from your HKD account for transfers in USD or EUR. However, you can only withdraw CNY for fund transfers in CNY.
- For Electronic Transfer, currency exchange is not allowed.
- How can I enquire my latest local bank transfer transactions conducted via Mobile Banking?
- You can select "Last Ten Mobile Banking Txn Records" under "Smart Links" on Mobile Banking. Or you can select "Transaction Records" under "Local Bank Transfer". In addition, you may also refer to the "Last Ten Transaction Records (Mobile Banking)" under "Assistant" on Internet Banking to enquire the latest local banking transfer transactions conducted via Mobile Banking.
- How can I ensure the local bank transfer instruction has been submitted successfully?
- You may check whether the submission is successful or not on Mobile Banking.
- The Reference Number upon transaction completion; or
- Last Ten Mobile Banking Transaction Records; or
- Transaction Record (via Internet Banking)
- How can I amend the third party account Daily Fund Transfer Limit?
- You can amend the limit via Internet Banking. If you would like to increase the limit, please use two-factor authentication or visit our branches for application.
- How can I set up the template for local bank transfer?
- You can set up a template at the section of "Template" under "Local Bank Transfer" on Internet Banking. The template that created will be automatically displayed on Mobile Banking.
- How can I amend the details of the template for local bank transfer on Mobile Banking?
- You can amend or delete the template at "Template" under "Local Bank Transfer" on Internet Banking.
