Securities Trading
- What securities services are available on Mobile Banking?
- You can trade all stocks listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK) via Mobile Banking, given you have a securities account (Mortgaged account do not apply).
- What market information is available on Mobile Banking?
- Real-time stock quote, delayed stock quote and index quote are available on Mobile Banking.
- What are the securities trading service hours for Mobile Banking?
- The securities order placement provides 24 hours service. You can place, update or delete orders during service hours. All at-auction and at-auction limit orders are only accepted before the end of pre-opening session. (Information updating procedure has been scheduled for every Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 17:00 and system upgrade has been scheduled for every Tuesday to Saturday from 02:30 to 05:30 and every Sunday from 02:30 to 08:00. The services are not available during these periods.)
- What are the securities trading charges of Mobile Banking?
- The securities trading charges of Mobile Banking are the same as those incurred via Internet Banking and Automated Stock Trading Hotline. For more details, please visit our website or any of our branches.
- Can I use Mobile Banking to update/delete any orders placed via other channels?
- Yes, you can use Mobile Banking to update/delete any orders placed via other channels including Internet Banking, Phone Banking, General Investment Hotline or branches. You can simply select "Update/Delete Order" under the Securities menu page.
- Can I use Mobile Banking to check the status of securities trading orders placed via other channels?
- Yes, you can use Mobile Banking to check the status of securities trading orders placed via other channels including Internet Banking, Phone Banking, General Investment Hotline or branches. You can simply select "Transaction Records" under the Securities menu page; or select "Transaction Record" of securities account under the "Account Overview" of "Enquiry" section.
- Are free real-time stock quotes available on Mobile Banking? What are the charges for additional quotes?
- Yes. Mobile Banking offers monthly free real-time basic stock quotes, which are determined based on the membership status of the Securities Club of your securities account. You can also enjoy the free real-time stock quotes on Internet Banking. For example, if you are a Gold Star member of the Securities Club, you are entitled to a total of 1,000 free real-time basic stock quotes per month on both Internet Banking and Mobile Banking services. Each additional real-time quote will be charged at HKD0.10 (minimum charge of HKD10.00 per month).
- Can I check the remaining stock quotes on Mobile Banking?
- Yes, you can check the number of remaining free real-time quotes or the number of chargeable quotes used of the current month via "Real-Time Quote Meter" on Mobile Banking. If the remaining free real-time quotes as of last trading day are less than 20, a reminding message will be displayed on the Mobile Banking Homepage and Securities Homepage.
- How do I ensure the securities trading order has been submitted?
- You may check whether the submission is successful or not via Mobile Banking:
- The Order Number upon transaction completion; or
- Last Ten Mobile Banking Transaction Records; or
- Transaction Record
- How do I ensure the securities trading order has been accepted?
- You may check whether the order is accepted or not via Mobile Banking:
- Transaction Records; or
- Email notification; or
- SMS notification (if enrolled)
Securities Club
- What is "Securities Club"?
- "Securities Club" (the "Club") is a new membership programme offering an array of exclusive benefits and privileges to securities customers of the Bank. The Club has four tiers of membership, namely "Diamond Star", "Gold Star", "Silver Star" or "Bright Star", based on the accumulated securities transaction amount of the customer in the membership year.
- Customers who maintain a securities account with the Bank will automatically become "Bright Star" members. Multiple tiers upgrades are allowed if customers can accumulate the required securities transaction amounts to enter the higher tiers within a membership year.
- Privileged offers for different membership tiers are as follows:

Personalised Securities Services (applicable to BOCHK Diamond Star members)
Dedicated Securities Services Manager assigned will provide one-stop personalised securities services from order placement to transaction confirmation. Securities Services Manager will also provide customers with the latest updates on the market and listed companies movement, price change alert, corporate actions handling and more, allowing customers to manage their investment portfolio with ease. |
Special Order Instructions (applicable to BOCHK Diamond Star members)
Special order instructions service helps customers to grasp every investment opportunity by executing their orders at their target prices.

Custody Fee Waiver (applicable to Diamond Star members)

BOCHK Wealth Management / NCB Wealth Management Monthly Service Fee Waiver (applicable to Diamond Star members)
Customers will enjoy a monthly service fee waiver for the first year upon successful opening of a BOCHK Wealth Management / NCB Wealth Management account.

- What are the requirements for each tier of membership of the Club?
- The membership status will depend on the accumulated securities transaction amount under the securities account(s) and securities margin account(s) of the same customer name during the membership year. Details are as follows:

- What type of securities trading transactions will be deemed eligible for accruing the securities transaction amount required? Will IPO subscription be eligible?
- Eligible transactions include the buying and selling of securities listed on the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (including securities settled in Hong Kong Dollar and non-Hong Kong Dollar) through the Bank's securities account(s) and securities margin trading account(s), Initial Public Offering ("IPO") subscription or IPO financing through yellow form application with shares successfully allotted, and contributions of the Monthly Stocks Savings Plan (excluding the brokerage fee and other service fees). The transaction amount of each eligible transaction will be rounded down to the nearest dollar (e.g. if the transaction amount is HK$105.8, the accumulated transaction amount will be rounded to HK$105.) Please contact our Bank staff for details.
- How do you calculate the accumulated securities transactions amount for transactions settled in non-Hong Kong Dollar?
- The transactions settled in non-Hong Kong Dollar will be converted into Hong Kong Dollar at the exchange rate set by the Bank on the day of transaction.
- When will the membership status be adjusted?
- The membership year lasts 12 months. Customers who accrue the higher securities transaction amount required will be upgraded to higher tiers in the following month within the membership year. Once the membership status is upgraded, the accumulated securities transaction amount will be reset.
- Upon expiry of the membership year, customer's membership will be upgraded, maintained, or adjusted based on the securities transaction amount accumulated in that membership year.
- Customers can review their accumulated securities transaction amounts on their monthly statements of securities account and integrated accounts or via Internet Banking / Mobile Banking.
- Does the Club allow multiple-tier membership adjustment?
- The Club allows multiple-tier membership adjustment. Should customers accumulate the required securities transaction amounts to enter the higher tiers within a membership year, their memberships will be upgraded in the following month. The current tier membership will be maintained even though the accumulated securities transaction amount does not meet the tier requirement in the membership year. However, such membership will be reviewed and adjusted upon expiry of the membership year.
- How long does the membership year last? Will the accumulated securities transaction amount reset when a new membership year starts?
- The membership year lasts 12 months. Upon expiry of the membership year, the accumulated securities transaction amount will be reset.
- How do you determine the membership status of joint name securities accounts?
- The securities accounts in the customer's sole name / joint names will each be assigned a membership status and the accumulated securities transaction amounts will be reviewed and calculated separately.
- If a customer terminates his/her securities account and re-opens the account within the membership year, will the accumulated securities transaction amount be reset?
- If a customer terminates all of the securities accounts in the same name, the relevant membership, accumulated securities transaction amount and privileges will be cancelled accordingly. The accumulated securities transaction amount will be reset despite the customer opens a new securities account within the same membership year.
