Bank of China Group Insurance Company Limited (“BOCG Insurance") is delighted to present the “Universal Smart Travel Insurance Plan” (“the Plan”) to you. Whether you and your family members are traveling on holiday, business or short-term overseas study trip, can enjoy a truly worry-free journey.

Important Note:  

For those who enroll in the “Universal Smart Travel Insurance Plan” from 18:00 on 3 December 2019 or the journeys booked on and after the time above (also applicable to customers who have purchased Annual Travel Plan), the “Winding-up of Airline(s)” under the Policy, benefit item(s) of Section 10 - travel delay and/or Section 11 – cancellation, is not applicable to Hong Kong Airlines passengers from now until further notice. Other benefits remain unchanged.

If customers applied the insurance after 11 March 2020, where the World Health Organization has already declared the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) as a pandemic or Hong Kong government issued any Outbound Travel Alerts to the original destination of the journey, the cause leading to any claims arising from New Coronavirus and/or Outbound Travel Alert will be regarded as known risks. All these claims will trigger the exclusions and thus they will not be proceed. Meanwhile, BOCG Insurance reserves the right of deciding whether the claim will be proceeding or not.

In case of any disputes, Bank of China Group Insurance Company Limited reserves the right of final decision.

Important Notes:

  • The Plan is underwritten by BOCG Insurance.
  • Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (“BOCHK”) is an appointed insurance agent of BOCG Insurance for distribution of the Plan. The Plan is a product of BOCG Insurance but not BOCHK.
  • In respect of an eligible dispute (as defined in the Terms of Reference for the Financial Dispute Resolution Centre in relation to the Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme) arising between BOCHK and the customer out of the selling process or processing of the related transaction, BOCHK is required to enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with the customer; however any dispute over the contractual terms of the Plan should be resolved between directly BOCG Insurance and the customer.
  • BOCG Insurance is authorised and regulated by the Insurance Authority to carry on general insurance business in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
  • BOCG Insurance reserves the right to accept or decline any application for the Plan based on the information provided by the proposed insured and/or insured person at the time of application.
  • BOCG Insurance reserves the right to amend, suspend and terminate the above products, services and offer and to amend the relevant terms at any time at its discretion without prior notice. In case of dispute, the decision of BOCG Insurance and BOCHK shall be final.

The Insurance Authority (“IA”) will collect premium levy from the policyholder at the applicable rate. In order to avoid any legal consequences, the policyholder must pay to the insurance company a prescribed levy for the premium for direct remittance to the IA.
