BOCHK Challenge (“Competition”) Terms and Conditions

  1. Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited ("BOCHK" or "Organiser") may transfer personal information collected from the Competition to the collaborating parties (including but not limited to BOCHK internal units, event suppliers and event support organisations) for competition purposes. The personal data provided on the competition application form will be kept confidential and will not be used by BOCHK to update the records of the participants in BOCHK's client database.
  2. The information submitted by the participant/ participating unit must be true and accurate. The submitted proposal and presentation materials must be original and will not infringe any rights (including intellectual property rights) of any third party, and will not include any contents that are illegal, fraudulent, violent, insulting, obscene, rude, disgusting, offensive, racially discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable or unreasonable, or intimidating or defamatory against any person or institution. In case of violation of the above, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the participant/ participating unit's entry or award qualification. If the submitted materials contravene the law, all legal liabilities and losses arising therefrom will be borne by the participant/ participating unit. The Organiser will not be responsible for such liabilities or losses.
  3. Participants/ participating units are required to show valid identification document,student ID card or business registration documents for verification when needed. The information entered on the competition application form must be the same as the provided document. Otherwise, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the participant/ participating unit's entry or award qualification.
  4. Each participant/ participating unit can register for the Competition once only, otherwise the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the participant/ participating unit's entry or award qualification.
  5. The Organiser will take photos and videos during the workshop as well as the Competition for marketing or reporting purposes. By signing up for the Competition, the participant/ participating unit agrees to authorize the Organiser and its authorized representatives to use the participant/ participating unit's team information, photos, sounds and/or other similar modes for publication.
  6. By signing up for the Competition, the participant/ participating unit agrees to authorize the Organiser to collect, use, edit, translate, copy, publish or display all or part of the submitted competition proposal.
  7. Each participating unit and individual is solely responsible for the equipment and personal belongings it/he/she carries. If the participant/ participating unit's equipment and/or personal belongings are stolen, lost or damaged, the Organiser will not be responsible for it.
  8. The Organiser has the right to cancel, delay or shorten the Competition for the following reasons:
    • A) Bad weather;
    • B) Protest or demonstration activities that cause the venue to be closed or blocked; or
    • C) Force majeure, which means the occurrence of any event beyond the control of the Organiser and making it impossible, unsafe or impractical to hold the Competition.
  9. The Organiser reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Competition at any time and to amend these Terms and Conditions without notice.
  10. Participants/ participating units must abide by these Terms and Conditions. If the participant/ participating unit conducts any fraudulent act in the Competition (as determined by the Organiser), the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the participant/ participating unit's entry or award qualification, and reserves the right to take legal action to recover from the participant/ participating unit any award improperly obtained due to fraud.
  11. If the Organiser reasonably believes that any participant/ participating unit uses or instructs others to use any method (including but not limited to improper or fraudulent acts) to interfere with the operation of the Competition and cause interference, technical issue or failure to any part of the Competition, or endanger, damage or affect the holding, accuracy, fairness or smooth running of the Competition, the Organiser reserves the right to terminate the qualification of the participant/ participating unit. The Organiser further reserves the right to pursue the participant/ participating unit for any loss or damages incurred.
  12. Employees of the Organiser and its group companies, as well as other supporting organisations of the Competition as specified by BOCHK from time to time (please refer to the list of supporting organisations as available at BOCHK’s event website), are not eligible for participating in the Competition.
  13. The participants/ participating units shall fulfill all eligibility requirements for the Competition as specified by the Organiser from time to time.
  14. These Terms and Conditions are governed by Hong Kong law.
  15. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Organiser shall be final.
  16. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
