We sponsored the Environmental Leadership Awards to encourage enterprises in the region to help protect the environment
BOCHK has become a member of the HKEX’s Hong Kong International Carbon Market Council, and have received two awards from Core Climate, a new international carbon marketplace launched by HKEX, for successfully completing some of the first international carbon credit transactions priced and settled in RMB and HKD.
BOCHK has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Guangzhou Emissions Exchange and become its member to jointly support the national goals of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality". The strategic partnership aims to combat climate change and promote the construction of an ecological civilization alongside the pursuit of comprehensive sustainable development. This will facilitate the transition of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a greener economy and society.
BOCHK is a cornerstone member of the Alliance for Green Commercial Banks. The Asia Chapter of the Alliance was jointly launched by the International Finance Corporation and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to bring together pioneers in green finance to drive financial innovation and investments in emerging markets, to co-finance the infrastructure and business solutions required to drive sustainable economic development.
BOCHK has been a sponsor of the annual HKGFA Forum since 2018. The forum provides a platform for the industry to join forces in promoting green finance and investment, and to advance Hong Kong’s role as a green finance hub.
We have sponsored the “BOCHK Corporate Low-Carbon Environmental Leadership Awards” since 2015. Organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI), the awards aim to encourage environmentally-conscious practices among manufacturing, service and property management enterprises in Hong Kong and the Pan-Pearl River Delta region.
