It’s important to us to understand what our stakeholders care most about. We maintain open and constructive dialogue with various stakeholders to identify issues of mutual concern. This helps us understand their expectations and improve our sustainability performance to better fulfil our responsibilities and commitments.

In recent years, many large corporates have placed great emphasis on sustainability. As early as 2008, BOCHK spearheaded the “Hong Kong Charity Green Walk” under the ”Green Olympics” theme of the Beijing Olympics, which was the first large-scale event in Hong Kong to advocate the protection of environmental resources and ecological balance. The Prehistoric Story Room, which was established later, as well as BOCHK’s recent sponsorship of the “Human and Nature Inclusion Programme”, have actively promoted the conservation of biological diversity, ecology and culture among primary and middle school students. Looking forward, I hope that BOCHK can continue to enhance young people’s knowledge of the environment and ecological conservation through training and inspection activities.
With a Board-level Sustainability Committee, BOCHK is well established in sustainability management and has contributed to a wide range of UN SDGs through very impressive environmental and social projects, particularly in green finance and in the timely caring initiatives made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as measures for SMEs.
